@" the purest form of an RPG, and the only choices you could find there were:

-Run away from monster that will kill you, or
-Attempt to kill monster that will kill you. "

you never played any good pen and paper RPGs then. There were very significant choices in a lot of them. The choices were a hell of a lot more interesting than the combat ever was.

They were far more about character building anyway.

Apple's market cap is high, but Sony would never sell for it's current market cap.

There's so many factors that go into the actual selling price of a company. You don't get to buy a company at it's current price. I forge the exact number, but when you purchase more than a certain percentage of a company you have to announce it before you do it, and apple would probably end up having to put up the majority of apple to get enough money to buy sony.

on you maybe. You think they don't have focus groups in every state and every country to figure out how best to make their commercials?

@"Only low end tvs are 60hz now, and with 3d tvs I don't think there are any below 120hz, most are 240hz+, and you do need a 3d TV for this to work. So each player could get at least 60fps because in this mode it's not necessarily in 3D, it's about giving each player a full screen view. Or you could do 4 player 2D at 30fps with each player having a full screen and not being able to see the other players screen. That's just awesome, even in 2D."

sorry I missed this:

"apple ipad
ms have now announced a tablet "

MS has had tablets for the last decade. They just haven't gotten big until now with the ipad/kindle/what have you. There have been tons of tablets running windows for years and years.

There are a couple things in your list that are suspect. Both microsoft and apple stole the gui from xerox (stole in that Xerox gave it to them). MSN had search right around...

dude if you had more than 2 people you'd need a ludicrously expensive TV or you'd get noticeably bad framerates. The majority of TVs have 60hz, so with 2 players you're already looking at a MAX of 30fps for each player. If it's...

A lot of people in my extended family use their wii every day. Do they use it a lot every day? no. But they'll pop in a game or two when friends come over and a lot of people are using it for workouts now too.

@"I doubt anybody whos getting GT5 plan on getting kinect"

Hardcore gamers make up like 10% of the market. The other 90% of casuals who are easily swayed by advertising would be seriously affected.

do people here really think they are the average game purchaser? The average game purchaser doesn't know a game's in development till commercials start coming on TV

I'm curious how those would affect tracking. Seems like there might be some angles where the excessive molding bits would block the light ball. The guns would be more useful, but I don't think they'd be worth $16 when the games are just as playable without them.

"Also Xbox 720 is a retarded name. It should just be Xbox 3, like the 360 should've been Xbox 2."

It will probably be an Xbox (somename) rather than a number. That would go over a lot better imo.

wasn't saying you were wrong. Just something that gets on my nerves when people say that Too Human was in development for 10 years when the final released game only took them 3ish years to develop.

They released 2-3 games between the original too human and the final too human also.

it's a pet peeve of mine when people underestimate/under value the work that developers do on games.

I can kind of see what you're saying. A lot of other games long in development have handled the hype train a lot better. With GT5 it seems like we already have all the information. It doesn't help that GT5 isn't really a story driven game, so it's not like there's something in the way of a story surprise to fall back in.

There's also a huge competition factor when you release so much info about your game over such a broad time. Gives other developers a...
